Introduction:

This workshop provides participants with the essential skills and knowledge to safely operate, maintain and recover a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle in a range of real-world conditions. Designed for those working in resources, infrastructure and remote environments, the training focuses on practical application and safe work practices.

Participants will develop confidence driving on varied terrain including sand, gravel, slopes and off-road tracks, while learning how to minimise environmental impact and ensure vehicle reliability. The course also covers pre-start inspections, fault identification, and the safe use of recovery equipment to manage challenging situations.

On successful completion, students will gain nationally recognised competencies, equipping them with the ability to operate a 4WD vehicle effectively in line with workplace procedures, safety requirements and industry expectations.
