Are you interested in employing a trainee or apprentice?
IOGTA is determined to meet the needs for the Indian Ocean Communities, and finding appropriate employees and qualifications for you and your business, is just one of the services that we provide. We can assist you with signing up new trainees and apprentices, or if you already have a trainee or apprentice then we can also assistance with government funding and incentives.
IOGTA employs and places apprentices and trainees with industry host employers, as regular group training organisations do, but we also provide support to the employers that employ their apprentices directly. We are extremely proud to declare that because of this approach, it has resulted in training completion rates that are well above the National average. Whether the employee decides to directly employ or host the apprentice through IOGTA there is a wide range of support that IOGTA provides, such as:

Guidance with selecting the right apprenticeship/ traineeship for your business;

Facilitate the recruitment process, if required;

Provide information about government incentives and subsidies;

Help you choose a suitable TAFE or Registered Training Organisation;

Facilitate the contractual requirements of the apprenticeship/ traineeship;
-
Arrange flights and Travel and Accommodation Allowance for block-release training;
-
Collaboration with the training partners (TAFE, Apprenticeship Office, Apprenticeship Support Network Providers) on your behalf;

Provide pastoral care and mentoring to the apprentices and trainees;

Advise the employer and apprentice/trainee responsibilities under the Training Contract as required;

Conduct workplace monitoring to ensure the apprentice is ‘on track’ with their training.
Apprentices

At IOGTA we are here to help you every step of the way of your apprenticeship, from signing you up with an employer, through all of your block releases, to receiving the Certificate! Starting an apprenticeship can be nerve wrecking, but here at IOGTA we have created a relaxed atmosphere that allows and encourages apprentices to coming in for any assistance they may need. As our mission, we strive to provide quality services to the Indian Ocean Territories, as an apprentice with IOGTA you will have an immense support system and services provided to you, such as:

Trainees
Are you looking to upskill and take on a traineeship?
IOGTA is determined to assist in finding a traineeship that will help you upskill, and complement your job role. As an external territory it can be difficult for our trainees to find Registered Training Organisations to provide the qualification to them, IOGTA assists in a range of ways to ensure that traineeships can be accommodated, such as:

Organising the external delivery of the qualification;

Arranging trainer travel to the Indian Ocean Territories, as required;

Providing assistance in study – study sessions, use of private study rooms/areas, laptop hire, internet use.

Financial Assistance
Whereas apprentices attend TAFE for their off-the-job training, trainees typically complete the theory component of their studies remotely. To assist these trainees with their studies, IOGTA is funded to heavily subsidise the cost for lecturers to travel to the Indian Ocean Territories to assess trainees in their workplace.
